Announcing the 2025 Love All Scholarship Recipients
At the Kodjoe Family Foundation, our mission has always been to uplift health, wellness, and opportunity in diverse communities.
As co-founder Boris Kodjoe shares, “As a former top junior tennis player, I know how hard it is for young Black student-athletes to gain access to quality tennis instruction and programs. That’s why Nicole and I established the Love All Scholarship — to open a world of opportunities for Black youth through tennis.”
This year, we are thrilled to announce three outstanding recipients of the 2025 Love All Scholarship:
Shane Hines
Sidney Jones
Junior Hakizumwami
Spotlight on the 2025 Recipients
Sidney & Shane — Both Los Angeles natives, Sydney and Shane spent the past year training in their hometown with access to high-quality coaching that has prepared them to take their game to the next level. Their hard work is already paying off:
“I got an offer from Howard. I think the scholarship really helped me with that because I was able to train consistently.” – Shane
Junior — Originally from Rwanda, Junior had the extraordinary opportunity to train in the south of France at the world-renowned Mouratoglou Academy. His time there not only elevated his game but also gave him the chance to experience tennis on a global stage.
“My experience, oh, it was amazing.” – Junior
More Than Tennis: Building Futures
While these young athletes may pursue collegiate or even professional tennis careers, the Love All Scholarship is about more than the sport. It’s about fostering confidence, resilience, and global perspective.
As Boris reflects:
“We’re setting them up to build confidence and skill to thrive in an increasingly global and diverse world. A lot of the things that people gave to me when I was going through it, I kind of try to give that to them.”
Our scholars echo the impact:
“It’s changed my life so much.” – Sidney
“I want to thank the Kodjoe Family Foundation for giving me this opportunity to focus on my game and my confidence.” – Shane
“I’m truly grateful.” – Junior
