August opened with Junior doing something new: not training for himself, but showing up for the players coming up behind him.
On August 4, in an episode titled “Coming Full Circle: Giving Back,” Junior spent the week volunteering with young players back home in Rwanda, sharing what he’d learned over a year at the Academy. “I’ve been trying to volunteer and get back to the young ones, and spend some time sharing experience,” he said. It’s the clearest sign yet of what the Kodjoe Family Foundation’s Love All Scholarship actually builds: not just one player’s path forward, but a player who turns around and opens the same door for someone else.
The three weeks that followed were quieter by design. On August 11, Junior kept training and playing, “getting better” and spending time with friends. By August 18, he’d stepped back further still, taking a few days off to visit family before heading back into training. Then on August 25, the quiet gave way to a real turning point: “I’m trying to enjoy my last few days here before I go back to school.” After a year that took him from Kigali to the Mouratoglou Academy and back home to Rwanda, Junior packed up again, this time for Keiser University in Florida.

Every set on tour tells half of Junior’s story. The other half is this: a scholar who came up through the Love All Scholarship, circling back to make sure the door stays open for the next one, then moving on himself to the next stage of the same pipeline.
